Gap Debuts Women’s Fragrance

Creative director Gary McNatton has collaborated with Inter Parfums, on a project forGap personal care products. McNatton has won numerous FiFi awards, including two for legacy Gap fragrances. On April 23rd, his first release with Gap brand Close, will debut in all Gap stores. A fresh, floral musk fragrance from Givaudan ($8.50-$35) is housed in a heavy glass bottle in the shape of an egg, sprayed with an iridescent coating and enhanced with a silkscreened logo. The bottle (from Hangzhou Rensheng) fits into the package via lugs on the bottom that keep the logo facing to the front. A low-profile 13mm pump with a debossed logo and a shiny silver cap complete the picture. The secondary packaging consists of an acrylic box from DAPY Paris, which was molded specifically for the 50- and 100ml fragrance. Kroger Packaging provided the insert to add a spot of color and aid in the visibility of the iridescent coating.

Avon Plumps Skin Without Injections

Avon has introduced a line sure to resonate with women who want to erase wrinkles, but shy away from invasive cosmetic surgery treatments. Anew Clinical Derma-Full X3 Facial Filling Serum ($54) is touted as the first topical serum containing the same injectable-grade hyaluronic acid facial filler that’s used by dermatologists. Formulated in an ultra-concentrated, lightweight serum that’s displayed as a cool blue twist in the clear plastic bottle, the product claims to provide visible volume restoration, contouring and deep wrinkle filling benefits with breakthrough technology designed to stimulate skin’s own filling fibers and build skin’s natural reserve of filling hyaluronic acid. According to Avon, in just three days, the product begins to fill in wrinkles for a smoother, younger look; after four weeks, it is said to dramatically reduce the look of facial folds and hollowness—and over time, restores youthful contours and adds definition. Available exclusively through Avon representatives.
